Here is a good close up picture of a strawberry seed being planted.

I took some time to plant all 40 of them and I then put

a bit of peat moss on top of each one and tamped it down.

There we go, two different kinds of strawberries planted and it work out well.

It is easy to remember that the 25 Fragaria Fresca – Strawberry Early Fresca seeds are on the left

and the 40 Frageria vesca – Strawberry Alpine seeds are on the right.

I am going to put the greenhouse cover on it now and see what happens.

I would think that out of 65 seeds at least some of them should grow.

You may have noticed that the Fragaria Fresca seeds are light tan in color

while Frageria vesca seeds are much darker. I hope I get at least a few of each!

My tea seeds greenhouse has been sitting under a pair of twin 40 inch fluorescent lights

for a while now and the clear plastic cover has fogged over. I put a thermometer and humidity

guage in there and as you can see in these two pictures the humidity reading dial on the right

went up to 90+ percent. The temperature is reading 80F which is higher than I expected.

Here is a view of the lights I have on them.

They are a good foot and a half above the top of the greenhouse.

I did not think that would heat up the mini greenhouse that much.

As far as I know tea plant seeds germinate best at cooler temperatures.

I don’t know what effect the high 80F temperature will have on them.

I hope it speeds things up.

The 3 Desmodium gyrans – Telegraph Plant seeds have now soaked in warm water for 12 hours.

The 3 Mimosa pudica – Sensitive Plant seeds need to soak in hot water for 1/2 hour.

I warmed up the water in the red plastic dish by zapping it in the microwave for a few seconds

and then put the seeds in.

Ok. It has been 1/2 hour so let’s get the Sensitive Plant seeds planted in the upper left.

The 4 Dionaea muscipula – Venus Fly Trap seeds do not need to be soaked and you are not supposed to bury them.

Instead just lay them on the surface and spray them with a little water. I planted them on the right.

As usual, I covered up the greenhouse and put an incandescent light bulb on them to keep them warm.

Note: I did not add any fertilizer to the purified water I used, but I did add

superthrive and hydrogen peroxide. Be advised, fertilizer will kill Venus Fly Traps.

Now I wait and see if any of the seeds germinate and sprout.

Ok, let’s plant the seeds.
